Ryan Doyle appointed as Vice Chair of beam

Ryan Doyle, Group Sales and Business Development Director at Switch Hospitality Management, has been appointed as Vice Chair of beam, the UK trade association for the business events, accommodation and meetings industry.

Ryan has worked in the hospitality industry for nearly 15 years and is an active member of beam, having been appointed to its Board as Supplier Membership Director in 2022.

Built on best practice in business, beam is proud to represent over 70 agencies and 150 hotel, venue and serviced apartment organisations. Formerly known as HBAA, beam is recognised as the leading association for the business events, accommodation and meetings sector.

The Vice Chair is a new position for the association, introduced to ensure the representation of both venues and agents at Chair level and to recognise longer-serving venue Board Directors for their contribution to the organisation.

In his new role, Ryan will work alongside newly-appointed Chair of beam, Julie Shorrock, the Managing Director of Hotel and Travel Solutions (HTS), to drive forward the association’s ambitious strategy and support its growing membership base.

Commenting on his appointment, Ryan says:

Every member of beam is united by their passion for hospitality and the organisation has created a brilliant community, in which we can share best practice, provide resources and support, host industry-leading events and advocate for the wider sector.

Ryan joined Switch Hospitality Management in 2018 as our Group Sales and Business Development Director, and is responsible for the leadership of the Switch sales teams within our growing portfolio.

A keen advocate for the hospitality sector, in addition to his role within beam, Ryan also engages with a number of other industry bodies and strives for best practice and collaboration across the sector.
